Sex Offender Registry Board

The Sex Offender Registry Board (SORB) is the state agency responsible for keeping track of convicted sex offenders and classifying each offender so the public may receive information about dangerous sex offenders who live and work in each community.

Goal of the SORB:

1. To educate the public; and

2. To prevent further victimization.

Responsibilities of the SORB:

1. Promulgate guidelines for determining a sex offender's level of risk of re-offending and the degree of dangerousness posed to the public;

2. Develop guidelines for use by city and town police departments in disseminating sex offender registry information.

We encourage citizens to obtain a list of registered sex offenders in their town.
